Most battlefields ask you to imagine. Lexington and Concord don’t have to. The green where seventy-seven militia members stood their ground is still the center of town. The road they fought along on the way back to Boston still bends and narrows the same way it did in 1775. The stone walls are still low enough to crouch behind. What makes this place so striking isn’t the monuments — it’s how little needs explaining once you’re actually standing there.
